Kijyo Rokkaku

Symbol of Nature
Earth, Water, Fire, Wind & Empty Morph

'88 Nov.16-Dec.20

Placed at the center of the exhibition are four massive pieces of furniture, entitled "Denka no Hoto." Hidden within each piece of furniture are Rokkaku's aspirations and memories of the past, present and future. The four pieces of furniture are devices which serve as vessels containing memories of "Earth, Water, Fire and Wind." The drawings decorating the surrounding walls have been set into framed cut into sections of the wall, and seem almost buried in them. On the fringes of the exhibition space one can catch glimpses of models of "Mt. Daisetsu Observation Tower"(1984) and "Tokyo Budokan"(1989) with its complex layered roof and ceilings.
