Jean Nouvel

Lumières

'95 Sep.19-Nov.2

Nouvel, who made his dramatic debut in the French architecture world with his "Institut du Monde Arabe"(1987), is one of the most closely watched figures in architecture today. His emotional architecture skillfully manipulates natural lighting by permeating, reflecting, and refracting it--elevating it to create amystical space. The images of his works deliver a sense of the architec's distinctive talents, unfolding here colofully in the darkness of the gallery through the use of original films and the television monitors.
