Yasuo Kondo

Missing Link

'90 May 11-Jun.14

The exhibition area is divides up into a number of different sections consisting of varying spaces which are linked together in a kind of labyrinth. As one passes through the labyrinth, each step into a new space erases one's memory of the previous space. After experiencing this sensation over and over again, one finally reaches the end of the maze, realizing that the entire experience of spacial differences has been produced by the clever manipulations of the architect. The exhibition conveys the type of spatial differences Kondo is attempting to archieve within the context of the homogenization of contemporary interior design.
