1963 Ludovico Quaroni's assistant at School for Urban Planning,
     Arezzo Carlo Aymonino's assistant in the Architectural Institute
      at the University of Venice
1965 Became assistant professor at Milan Polytechnic
1968 Became professor at Milan Polytechnic
1970 Won competition for the chair of historical building in Palermo
1975 Became professor at the University of Venice
1984 Won first prize in the competition for the Carlo Felice Theatre in Genoa
1987 Won first prize in international competition for La Villette-Sud in Paris
1988 Won first prize in international competition
      for the Museum of German History in Berlin
1990 Won the Pritzker Prize
1991 Won the AIA Honour Award
     Won Prize for Best Architeture of the City of Fukuoka with Il Palazzo Hotel
1992 Won the 1991 Thomas Jefferson Medal in Architeture
