1971 Established Kawakami Design Office
     Lecturer at Design Faculty,
      Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music,
      Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts, and others
1976 Japan Interior Designers' Association Award
1977 The Open International Chair Design Competition of A.I.A., U.S.A.
      (1st Prize)
1981,'82 IF Prize, West Germany
1984 Japan Interior Design Award Prize for Excellence
1985,'86 Japan Package Design Award for Super Excellence
