CSR Promotion System
In fiscal 2004, the TOTO Group launched a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee chaired by the President, and since then, the Committee has been promoting CSR management. The CSR Committee, which holds meetings once a year, is comprised of three fields: Environment, Social and Governance. Subcommittees that make up each field establish company-wide plans for their areas of responsibility, and engage in activities that cross over different departments and are expanded to related departments and Group companies. For the purpose of accelerating these efforts, a new executive officer in charge of overseeing CSR promotion at TOTO's domestic and overseas companies has been established since fiscal 2014. Cooperation between each subcommittee and the supervising division is being bolstered with the aim of speeding up CSR management through the delegation of authority.
To promote CSR management, TOTO Group is working to improve the awareness of CSR in our employees.
Initiatives in Domestic Japan
TOTO creates CSR educational materials, provides training programs targeting new recruits and new General Managers of TOTO and Group companies, training via e-learning systems and in-house conferences to foster transparency in an outline of CSR, specific initiatives, social trends and future initiatives.
Initiatives at Overseas Group Companies
Overseas Group companies have training programs that are based on actual circumstances in those countries. In addition, TOTO makes English and Chinese version education materials available to ensure employees undergo training to firmly establish CSR. TOTO China, which is located in Beijing and oversees business in China, takes advantage of opportunities to train general managers in China to also train them in CSR management and corporate culture. Furthermore, TOTO Vietnam, which is located in Hanoi, makes sure that employees receive training in company philosophy at regular internal meetings, to raise awareness.
